A question was asked looking for tips/advice for a newly qualified rotational band 5 interview.

Explain that you are a team player, you are professional and have an example of your proudest achievement in case you are asked.
Be able to interpret ABGs, basic MSK cases, and know when to escalate problems.
Have examples of how you meet the job description and how you meet the Trust's values.
Know how to prioritise, be able to discuss your skills and experience as a student, expect clinical questions and questions on CPD.
Clinical scenarios - on call/acute respiratory scenarios, post TKR showing signs of infection - how would you manage?
Learn MSK red flags, working within your scope/limits, how to prioritise on the ward.
How to manage stress.
Know your a-e, neuro assessments, common respiratory conditions.
Be able to manage a caseload as a junior so know when to ask for help.
Why do you want to work for this Trust?
What to do if you see a HCA doing something unsafe?
How to deal with conflict between colleagues/patient/relatives.
Give an example of a time you received negative feedback and how you acted upon it.
Governance/EDI questions
Willingness to learn.
Be prepared to carry out a basic UL neuro Ax.
Be honest about what you know/don't know.
Have a portfolio available of reflections from student placements.
Know how to delegate.
